I like Hegel's dialectic... It seem to work on the principle that if we argue for long enough we'll end up agreeing. It also ties in nicely with Karl Popper's work on verisimilitude as for every synthesis you can generate an anti-synthesis, and you can continue doing this ad infinitum allowing you to asymptopically* approach the perfect solution.
