I really don't see that the use of 'privilege' among identity politics types is especially difficult. Certainly I got it immediately when first coming across the subject - a privilege is an advantage one person or group of people has over others, from the Latin for 'private law'. Seems absolutely right for the concept, both colloquially and etymologically, to me...
