See the thread here for some idea why. I especially like [livejournal.com profile] citizen905's comment.

This photo, naturally, comes courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] jwz. What, you mean you haven't subscribed to his blog yet?

How work-safe is the image? I ask because it seems to be blocked from here... I'd like to know if and how much trouble I could get into be repeatedly viewing my friends page...

The image doesn't show up for me either, but I think that's a policy of the hosting site, rather than content filtering - there are lots of places that don't like people displaying images directly rather than linking to the page, on the basis that it's bandwidth theft. Clicking on the link does show the picture - it's not porn or anything like that, but it would probably be best hidden behind cut-tags. (Basically, two women looking a bit battered, one has a T-shirt saying "I kill everything I fuck" and the other one has a T-shirt saying "I fuck everything I kill".)

Ah thanks. I looked at the URL and thought "that could be within what the university defines as dodgy", so decided it would be prudent not to click. I would have probably tried from the Acland, as I'm on ranting terms with Keble sys (as in both of us happily ranting about other people, rather than one of us ranting at the other).

I think they're being zombies.

I'm now stealing JWZ's bandwidth instead - he doesn't seem to have this setup, and if he's prepared to host the picture for the thousands of people who read his LJ, he can probably handle hosting it for the twenty or so who read mine. If needs be, I'll post it on samur41.

I've also put the image behind cut-tags. Bah. Lameness.

Curiously, the picture did appear once I'd been to the other site; I'm not sure whether that's just caching, or something else. Anyway, thanks for editing the post :)

Caching, I think. If you'd reloaded, the picture should have disappeared. This was why I didn't spot the problem when I wrote the post.

Well I can see the image now, so I suspect that OUCS won't be battering down my door anytime soon.
